Scholarship Opportunties
The Northwest Band encourages students to explore scholarships offered by various organizations to support their passion for music and the arts. These external scholarships provide opportunities to help with tuition, instrument costs, and other related expenses. As scholarship opportunities become available, we will update this page with the latest offerings from organizations dedicated to supporting students in music and the arts. Current Scholarships
Waukee Area Arts Council Scholarship
The Waukee Area Arts Council will award two scholarships of $1,000 to members of the Class of 2025 who plan to study studio arts or the performing arts.
Interested students are required to submit an essay discussing their focus and training in the arts, what the arts have meant in their life, accomplishments and awards, and their plans for their future education and career in the arts. Candidates who submit an essay will be interviewed in April of 2025.

Civic Music Association Scholarships
The Civic Music Association offers two types of scholarships each year to middle school and high school students. These include:
Marjorie Spevak Music Scholarship: $750 scholarships for two students - one in Grades 6-9 and one in Grades 10-12 - wishing to further their study of music. Funds may be used for music lessons, instrument rentals or purchases, or a summer camp or program.
Young Artist Scholarship: $1000-$1500 scholarships to two high school students and two college students who plan to further pursue the study of music.
