Can Shack FAQ

The Can Shack is a small barn/shed located in the Waukee Fareway parking lot at 200 SE Laurel Street. This is a collection site for cans and bottles that are IA deposit eligible. Band students in 9th -12th grades from both Waukee and Northwest High Schools sort the glass bottles, plastics, and cans to earn money toward their band accounts for future optional band trips and expenses. The students earn 75% of the monthly funds while 25% goes to the band’s general fund. There is a monthly SignUpGenius sent each month to sign up for a sorting time.
